According to the latest ONS data (April 2024), 111,816 UK children aged 3–17 have experienced Long Covid, many with fluctuating symptoms and disability. In the US, the NIH RECOVER study estimates nearly six million children are affected - more than are diagnosed with asthma. Yet children remain marginalised in policy and missing from the wider Covid response. Gaps in care and understanding leave them without the support they need for a brighter future.
Long Covid Kids is the leading patient-led charity supporting young people with Long Covid. With 11,000+ families in our network, we provide expert-led support, advocacy, and resources. This appeal will enable us to support our volunteers, fund co-produced resources, tailored toolkits, maintain our website, and develop a helpline; ensuring young people are heard, supported, and actively involved in shaping the help they receive.
