We want to help ensure equity in access to youth arts activities and create the pathways to professional careers in the arts for all young people. Engagement in high quality youth music performance groups is increasingly out of reach for many young people who have great potential to develop their artistic skills but lack the financial backing to achieve this.

To be able to offer subsidised fees to those young people who need them so they can participate in our London Youth Folk Ensemble and National Youth Folk Ensemble. Funding will enable us to offer a sliding scale of fees to support the costs of young people from low income households so they can engage with our youth music ensembles. If we can offer reduced fees and support for other costs such as travel to events we are making positive steps towards equitable provision.
