Classics for All was founded to help reverse the decline of Classics teaching in state schools. Studying Classics enhances literacy, helps us to connect the past with the present, and expands horizons. We believe that these important and fascinating subjects shouldn’t just be for children at independent schools, so we’re working to ensure that every child, regardless of their background or situation, can access Classics.

We provide quality training and support to teachers in state schools so that they feel confident and equipped to teach Classics in their classrooms. Once trained, we offer long-term guidance and advice, and provide opportunities for peer learning, so that teachers are equipped to sustain Classics teaching. We know that this helps them to develop their confidence, enthusiasm and subject provision for the long-term, thereby helping even more pupils.
