The Wildlife Trust BCN aims to help nature recover by the end of the decade. Our region has some key species and habitats found in few other places. Ancient woodlands sustain thousands of species, but they are under threat. We need your help to turn fortunes around!

In an era of accelerating climate change, we all face a climate and biodiversity crisis set to reduce our ability to sustain life; that's nature and humanity facing severe challenges just to survive. Woodlands are suffering from disease, changing weather patterns, and declining diversity of species. As woodlands' conditions worsen, so does their ability to support nature and improve our air, soils and water.
We have calculated it will cost us an extra £1,500,000, in our area, to put nature into recovery, to engage local communities to take action to support nature's recovery and to work hand in hand with natural solutions to the crises we all face. Active management of our woodlands is key to the work we need to undertake to achieve our aims. We manage woodland to maintain the widest range of habitats. Grassy areas, low scrub, young and mature trees are essential for woodland plants and animals.
