Over 25 years, CSSF has developed cultural and educational best practice, providing opportunity for children to engage with the arts. By taking part, young people who might otherwise not have the chance, walk a bit taller, dream a bit bigger, and unlock confidence and creativity for the future.

Children across the UK face continued reduction in arts provision in schools and a sense that the arts are an extra rather than essential. This results in high-quality opportunities being available only to a few, widening the enrichment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers. Creative experiences are not a luxury – they are essential. We work to make arts provision in schools accessible to all, developing young people’s confidence, aspiration and wellbeing, no matter their background.

Our ambitious programmes increase children’s oracy, essential skills and self-esteem. Over the next 5 years, our renewed strategy will see us focus on meaningful participatory opportunities for all young people, training and resources for teachers and strategic partnerships to unlock opportunities for children facing disadvantage, particularly SEND children and those from underserved communities. This transformative process inspires pride from their teachers, their families and themselves.
