More refugees have moved around the world in the last 15 years than at any point in modern history. Each year, more than 100,000 people arrive in the UK seeking refuge, from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran and many other places. Many are fleeing war, persecution or crises. Once here, refugees face hardship. They are isolated, afraid, live in poor housing, and may be moved at short notice. Until a refugee can start to integrate into a community, they can’t build a new life, settle down or contribute.
