PDAers are autistic people whose sense of safety depends on feeling in control. Everyday demands trigger extreme anxiety, making daily life incredibly hard. Supporting a PDAer can be emotionally, financially & physically overwhelming for parents and carers. The PDA Society are here to help.

For PDAers, even small demands like choosing food or following a routine can feel impossible, and this can understandably have an impact on everyone in their life. But because so few people understand PDA, when parents and carers need extra support, they are often faced with judgement, blame and isolation. This causes avoidable trauma, mental distress, and leaves carers overwhelmed.
Our small team—mostly made up of people with lived experience—delivered training to thousands & responded to over 2500 requests for help last year, for many their only experience of feeling supported & understood.
