Having a bed and a safe place to sleep at night is a basic, however too many children in England don't have this and as such have poor mental health, are too tired to function properly at school and are not achieving their potential. A recent Barnardo's report uncovered the fact that parents from over 1 million families in England are having to give up their own bed, so their child has somewhere to sleep.

We provide beds and bed bundles to disadvantaged children so that they have the opportunity to engage at school and a chance to break the future cycle of poverty. Providing bed bundles for children also has significant positive impacts on wider family life, including parents who can then access their own beds, sleep better, improve their one mental health and wellbeing and therefore be in a better position to access and sustain employment.
