Every 90 seconds someone in the UK is hospitalised from an ABI, due to various causes, including falls, tumours, & strokes. Each ABI is different & coming to terms with the effects for individuals & their families can be very distressing & difficult. In 2023 there were approx. 7,000 ABI admissions across our delivery area. Those affected can be some of the most vulnerable in society, with high levels of need & care. For some it can be mainly hidden so isolation can be a big challenge.
We provide a fully wrap-around service offering appropriate support at the right time for ABI survivors, their family/friends. Delivery is through a hybrid of 1:1 & group activities, on-line & in-person as well as community outreach & home visits, particularly relevant for those living in remote areas or with accessibility issues across our area. We also offer counselling sessions, mentoring & digital awareness support & social group activities like regular Walk & Talks & Support Café’s.
