This Christmas, StreetVet is raising vital funds to deliver free veterinary care to the pets of those experiencing homelessness across the UK. Pets provide companionship, stability, warmth and emotional support; StreetVet needs your help to keep them healthy, happy and at their owner’s side.

Up to 1 in 4 people experiencing homelessness in the UK have a pet, but they face multiple barriers when trying to access veterinary care for their companion. Only 21% of homelessness services in the UK are pet-inclusive, meaning many people are forced to choose between giving up their pet and accessing vital support services. StreetVet provides free accessible veterinary care and works with homelessness services nationally to support people and pets to move beyond homelessness together.

Our team of 300+ volunteer vets and vet nurses deliver regular outreach clinics in 24 locations nationally. Anything that can be done in a consulting room – vaccinations, blood tests, biopsies, general health checks – our volunteers can do on the streets. StreetVet also covers the cost of referrals for emergency surgery, scans, spays, and other specialised care. The StreetVet Accredited Hostel and Day Centre Scheme supports homelessness service providers to become pet-inclusive.
