The UK is heading towards a mental health crisis. NHS and other statutory resources, while invaluable, are overwhelmed. This leaves a vast, urgent gap where SANE steps in, offering essential support, information and guidance through our free mental health services.

Over the past decade, the number of people in contact with mental health services has jumped from 2.6 million to over 3.6 million. Suicide rates are the highest they've been in over 25 years. Despite this alarming reality, vital support is under threat. Mental health makes up 20% of the disease burden on the NHS, but spending has been cut to just 8.71% of NHS costs. This has left over 1 million people currently on waiting lists desperate for support.

SANE’s services are available to anyone facing mental illness as well as their family/carers. Our specialist helpline, SANEline, is open daily (4pm to 10pm). For those needing sustained help, our Call Back service offers proactive, weekly support from trained professionals. This is a service nobody else provides; it is up to SANE alone to be there for these individuals. At this critical time, we will be expanding the reach of our services so we can be there for those left behind.
