We’re addressing critical shortages of vegetarian/vegan options for people facing food insecurity. A sharp rise in food insecurity (13% of people in the Northwest were in food insecure households in 2023/24), coupled with food banks often lacking suitable choices, leaves individuals unable to meet nutritional, ethical, or health needs - especially at Christmas. This deepens health inequalities, exacerbates food poverty and reinforces the exclusion of those with dietary requirements long term.
We will partner with local community centres, utilising their kitchens and our existing distribution networks to provide frontline food provision for 240 vegetarians and vegans suffering from food poverty. As food banks often struggle to cater for meat-free diets, we are vital to fill this gap. This aligns with our mission to create a kinder life for people, the planet and for animals, through tackling food poverty and providing ethical, sustainable and nutritious meals, while building community
