Florence Nightingale Hospice provides end-of-life care across most of the county, supporting 353,000 people — a 50% increase in those we can help. Our Hospice at Home service enables patients to stay at home with loved ones, receiving personal care, symptom management and support. Families often tell us nights are the hardest, when worries grow and people feel most alone. A dedicated Overnight Team will ensure comfort, dignity and reassurance whenever it’s needed.

With support from The Big Give, we will create a small, dedicated team of nurses and healthcare assistants to provide overnight Hospice at Home care. The team will be available every night, offering rapid response, expert support and compassionate care. Working closely with daytime staff, they’ll ensure smooth handovers and consistent, specialist oversight so patients and families receive seamless care whenever it’s needed.
