In many Indian regions with booming industries that supply water-intensive products to consumers globally, it’s the people already living with many disadvantages who lose out in the fierce competition for water. With record levels of drought, smallholder farmers witness their crops repeatedly failing, families experience debilitating illness, and women and children spend hours searching for clean, safe water.

We assess water quality, availability, community health and livelihoods with local experts, then deliver tailored solutions for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene. To ensure fair, lasting access to water when there are competing demands, we support mothers, farmers and community leaders to share their stories and data in water planning decisions with government officials and industry representatives. When we work in this way, water is protected and restored for people, nature and our planet.
