Millions of women in marginalised communities across East and West Africa face significant barriers to economic opportunity, self-sufficiency, and equal participation. Deep-rooted gender inequalities, harmful social norms, and limited access to vocational training perpetuate cycles of poverty. These factors undermine women’s ability to secure livelihoods, support their families, and shape their own futures—holding entire communities back from reaching their full potential.
Action on Poverty empowers women by working alongside trusted local partners to provide tailored vocational skills training, business development, and access to financial resources. Our community-led approach strengthens women’s groups, increases incomes, and builds leadership skills. This enables women to overcome systemic barriers and become agents of change who uplift their families and communities for generations.
