With 2.6 million current, retired, and reservist Armed Forces members in the UK, mental health challenges are common. One in eight veterans seek GP support; 20% of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have probable PTSD. Yet 85% feel ashamed of their diagnosis. Many avoid seeking help due to stigma, long NHS wait times, or lack of appropriate care. There is an urgent need for trusted, trauma-informed support that veterans feel safe to access.

We train and provide specialist assistance dogs through our unique PALS™ programme, pairing them with veterans to support mental health recovery. Our dogs are trained to recognise and respond to distress, helping reduce symptoms like panic attacks and hypervigilance. Veterans also attend structured residential training, gaining coping skills, confidence, and peer support. This holistic model leads to long-term improvements in wellbeing, independence, and family life.
