Outside In supports artists who face significant barriers to the arts for reasons of health, disability, isolation and socio-economic circumstance. We exist to nurture diverse talent and celebrate new perspectives. Help us to continue providing opportunities for underrepresented artists in the UK.

Art is a powerful reflection of society and can challenge attitudes and inspire change, yet many public collections fail to represent the perspective of marginalised artists. Less than a third of arts venues regularly present or support work by Disabled / neurodivergent artists and only 8% of artists come from working class backgrounds.

Outside In seeks to address this imbalance and encourage diversity across the public and commercial art sector. Since 2006, we have successfully engaged more than 5,000 non-traditional artists, helping them to gain exposure through online galleries, take part in free training, and sell and display work at exhibitions around the UK. Over 225 artists have participated in our free artist development programmes, providing tangible art sector skills and and career opportunities in the arts.
