On average, survivors of domestic abuse attempt to leave their abuser 7 times before being able to leave for good. It takes huge courage to flee. On top of emotional & physical impacts, survivors often face economic hardship, arriving at refuge with little to nothing, some after having spent time street homeless. They arrive scared & anxious, leaving everything behind. We want to ensure their stay in refuge becomes the time a survivor can leave for good so they can live a life free from abuse.

Across 6 months we provide survivors with therapy, advocate for access to healthcare, housing, & legal support & empower them to rebuild their lives. However, this can only happen once families are safe & settled. A warm welcome on arrival is crucial. Our packs provide everything a family needs, from bedding, towels, pans & a food pack, to children’s boxes with cuddly toys, books & games. These are not only practicalities: they are a promise to our families that they will be safe & cared for.
