This project will allow us to significantly increase our service capacity, offering life-changing therapy to more children who would otherwise be unable to attend, or may have a long wait due to lack of resource. We aspire to expand our impact and your funding will be a huge impact.

Children who have a disability find it challenging to control their movements. They may lack head control, so they are unable to engage with the world around them. They may be unable to sit without propping themselves up with their hands, meaning they are unable to play, to learn to write, or to feed themselves. For a child who lacks control of their lower limbs, they may need a hoist to move from one area to another, or require the use of assistance aids to enable them to be mobile.

To address this need, our specialist therapy has been developed at The Movement Centre over the last 29 years, and we have great outcomes to prove the impact. Targeted Training therapy is different from other therapies because it works by placing the child in an upright position. The standing frame targets the specific area of poor control and addresses issues of altered tone.Increased movement control enables children to gain functional skills and independence.
