We've seen a growing number of single parents in London caring for children with disabilities like autism. Across the UK, 26% of families with disabled children are lone parents, and 54% of parent carers have been treated for depression or anxiety. London alone has nearly 262,000 lone-parent households, many under pressure from rising living costs. This year we’ve seen more single parents facing burnout in our local community. If unaddressed, the strain can affect both parent and child longterm.

Caring for children with disabilities is tough—even harder when you do it alone. This is the reality for many single parents in our community who need both mental health and practical support. This Christmas, we’ll offer 75 single parents caring for children with disabilities up to 6 free therapy sessions, care packages with essentials and sensory kits, plus group check-ins to ease isolation. Our goal is to reduce burnout, boost wellbeing, and provide much-needed relief during a tough season.
