We work in Primary, Secondary, SEND Schools and Pupil Referral Units in England and Scotland. In London, we offer breakfast to almost 80,000 children and young people. We aim to end child morning hunger, aiding educational attainment and creating a sense of routine and community to start each day.

As of January 2025, a third of children in London are growing up in poverty. Employment is often emphasised as a solution, but more than half of Londoners in poverty are employed. Healthier food options are on average twice as expensive per calorie as less healthy options. Means tested initiatives mean not all children at risk of hunger can access help. Without a healthy breakfast, children miss out on key nutrition to fuel their education and lack a grounding, social routine to start their day.

We will ensure a nutritious breakfast is provided to as many pupils at risk of hunger as possible. Alongside providing cereals, bagels, bread, porridge, beans and more, we’ll give expert advice to schools on providing stigma-free breakfast, brief staff on spotting ‘hidden hunger’ and present assemblies on the importance of breakfast. Teachers report that our provision positively impacts mental and physical health, classroom behaviour, educational attainment, and alleviates pressure on families.
