The Curry Kitchen provides fresh, hot meals all year round to those most in need in Luton. However, as the weather changes, the need grows and we want to help as many people as we can this Christmas, from all walks of life, to get a nutritious meal and a place to come for support and a friendly ear.

Luton is a vibrant and ethnically diverse city but poverty is a huge problem. 1 in 57 people Luton are homeless and 5 of the 19 wards are in the 10% most deprived areas in the country. Food poverty can lead to a wide range of issues, from mental health issues to social exclusion and the obvious health risks of not having regular, nutritious meals. It's also often a barrier to finding and maintaining employment so addressing this can make a huge impact on individuals, and their families lives.
The Curry Kitchen offers a free hot meal each week to c130 of the most in need people in Luton, working with Discover Islam and Venue Central. We also deliver around 40 meals to local homeless shelters; often the only hot meal they'll have that week. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, community environment where people can come together, share stories and, through our many partners, find support on housing, employment and education to begin to address the wider challenges they face.
