The mission will go to Northern Nigeria, where there has been much trauma. Our invitation comes from the Anglican Diocese of Jos and Stefanos Foundation. We will bring our training and ministry to war survivors and train local trauma counsellors who work there.

In this area of Northern Nigeria hundreds of people have suffered due to religious persecution from Fulani Herdsmen who are Muslim in a predominantly Christian Plateau State. They put their herd on the land of the mostly Christian population and then kill the occupants and drive the others off the land so that their cattle have good fertile land to stay or move on. We heard stories from the survivors, some of whom had up to 31 blood relatives killed. This has left many traumatised and in pain.

Bring teaching to enable survivors to be freed from the impacts of this conflict. Our programme releases them from fear, shock and trauma and helps them to move from anger and potential retaliation to forgiveness and peace. We see them freed from their spiritual, emotional and physical pain. Equip local counsellors to more effectively support victims to be healed from trauma.
