It takes resilience and courage to rebuild a life after prison. Stability is often hard-won and fragile, and the key to lasting success is trusting and reliable relationships. With your help, StandOut will support more people on their journey – empowering them to realise their potential.

Almost half of people leaving prison will be back within a year. Having a job and settled accommodation increases people’s chance of success. Only 18% of London prison leavers are employed within six months of release and 1 in 2 are homeless. People who want to make a fresh start after prison are held back by not having the confidence, skills or connections to make it a reality. Without the right support, prison leavers can’t move forward with their lives on release and make positive choices.

StandOut participants are empowered to make positive change, connect with positive influences and leave the justice system for good. Our unique 12-day course inside prison develops the resilience and confidence needed to build a brighter future. After the course we offer 1:1 coaching and support for as long as needed. Our participants are two times more likely to be in employment six months after release and twice as likely to stay out of prison.
