All children have potential, and music has the power to ignite it. Music education builds confidence, interpersonal skills and the growth mindset young people need to thrive. We’re fundraising for free places on our immersive instrumental learning programme, for children from disadvantaged areas.

Music education changes young lives: learning an instrument in a group setting helps children improve their listening and communication skills, team working abilities, emotional wellbeing and self-confidence. All whilst making friends and having fun. At Nucleo we want all children to have the chance to benefit, but many are priced out of the opportunity. The wealthiest UK children are nearly three times more likely to take part in music education than children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Nucleo provides completely free extracurricular music education, including free instrument loans and an immersive programme of classes and rehearsals 31 weeks a year. Open to any young Londoner aged 0-20 and supporting over 400 students a year, Nucleo offers ongoing learning and progression from beginner through to Grade 8+ level. This campaign will fund learning for young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods. We prioritise them for places and they make up more than 50% of our intake.
