1.In rural Kenya, many impoverished children struggle to complete the school day due to lack of food. ‘Packed lunches’ are not an option as there is no food at home. The lack of food results in low concentration and a failure to realise their full potential. 2.Due to local traditions of property passing through male lineage, many elderly widows find themselves living in poor quality, rented shacks. Begging daily for rent money can be the only option, with health and wellbeing implications.

1.Creation of feeding programmes within schools, including vegetable garden clubs where crops are grown for use within the meals, and sell surplus to raise funds for additional foodstuffs. The clubs are co-run by staff and parents to ensure ongoing growth 2.Building of simple homes for widows who have been identified by the local community elders as being particularly vulnerable and without any access to wider family support. The homes will be built on land specifically donated for that purpose.
