Our criminal justice system is broken. Our mission is for Restorative Justice (RJ) to be at the heart of a fair & effective justice system. It is proven to support victims cope & recover from crime, reduce reoffending & is cost effective. Victims have the right to be told about RJ under the Victims Code, yet only 5% recall being told about it. If people don't know about it then they are not able to access it. Why me? is working to change this through innovative communications & outreach work.
We have a well established track record of undertaking innovative communications and outreach work that raises awareness of RJ, breaks down barriers and illustrates the power of RJ. We have a team of lived experience Ambassadors, who are passionate about telling their stories of how RJ transformed their lives. Together, we will work with victims organisations & criminal justice agencies to increase their knowledge and confidence in RJ, how it works & how it can help the people they support.
