Each Christmas, we give young carers a well-deserved selection of festive treats through our ‘Operation Christmas’ appeal. Delivering ‘goodie bags’ is a heartfelt way to show local young carers they’re seen and valued whilst quietly bearing the weight of their often-overwhelming responsibilities.

Young carers are hidden heroes of society, saving the economy billions as they keep loved ones at home and reduce pressures on healthcare services. Yet their circumstances often leave them physically, socially, emotionally and economically vulnerable. They’re at least twice as likely to come from single parent families, most have at least one economically inactive parent and many live in areas of significant social deprivation.
We’re aiming to deliver 2000 goodie bags to local, kind-hearted young carers, providing them with a joy-filled token of our appreciation for the important work that they do in supporting their families and communities. For those in most financial need, this wonderful bag of seasonal treats may be the only gift they receive this Christmas. Bags will include a bespoke MYTIME Christmas jumper, a book, a game, an activity and of course, plenty of delicious Christmas chocolate.
