HEALS often deals with complex cases, where multiple types of support are required. Financial difficulties often lead to mental health issues which can spiral into what seem unsurmountable problems. The cost of living crisis is significantly increasing hardship in our area and our services have been stretched in helping individuals and families in need. Christmas can be a difficult time for those that are lonely or cannot afford both heating and food, let alone gifts or treats for the children
Our much anticipated annual Christmas Community Lunch for around 90 older, isolated members of the community and we are putting on a special families Christmas lunch at a local restaurant. We also organise a pantomime trip for local families to the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon and buy or ask for donated gifts for our Santa run by volunteers in Christmas week, making sure every child in a household facing hardship gets a present and an age-relevant festive trip.
