No child should grow up needlessly blind – let alone two. Every day, children living in poverty become needlessly blind from treatable conditions like cataracts. We provide access to sight-saving surgery for children to gain an education, play with their friends, and build a brighter future.

Samjhana, 10, and Anshu, 6, live in poverty with their mother, Sushila, in Nepal, South Asia. Samjhana has a physical disability, and Anshu has a learning disability, both siblings also had cataracts in both eyes. “We only came to know about the cataracts […] during the cataract screening visit at their school,” Sushila told us. No one should be blind just because they can’t afford treatment, but today, 3 out of 4 people who are blind don’t need to be.
Your donation will restore sight and prevent blindness for children in the world’s poorest places through supporting sight-saving operations, training surgeons, funding equipment and medical supplies, and supporting community awareness and screening programmes to ensure that children with eye problems are identified quickly. You donation will give children like Samjhana and Anshu, living in remote and difficult to reach places access to good quality eye health services.
