In one of the UK’s most deprived boroughs, children and young people face daily challenges and limited opportunities in all aspects of their lives. Shakespeare North works with them to build their confidence, nurture their ambitions, and give them the tools to take charge of their own futures.

Children and young people today face an uncertain future. The pandemic, rising living costs, and global conflicts have created instability. In Knowsley, the second most deprived borough in the UK, challenges are even greater. Many children and young people feel overlooked, judged, and disconnected. With few opportunities and low expectations, they struggle to see a positive future. We aim to change this narrative – to listen, support, and empower them.

Our outreach programme supports children and young people to learn, build skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose. We actively involve them in shaping activities, ensuring their voices are heard from the start. By focusing on their interests and strengths, we create space for growth, empowerment, and connection. Every young person deserves the chance to thrive – especially those facing disadvantage. Shakespeare North helps them believe in themselves and take steps toward a brighter future.
