In Odisha’s coastal villages, landless fisherfolk families face deep poverty, rising climate shocks, and shrinking livelihoods. As men migrate to cities for work, women are left to carry the burden of unstable incomes, growing debt, and limited opportunity. With little access to credit or training, they are just one crisis away from generational debt. Your support helps women build businesses, lead change, and secure a resilient future for their families.

Action Village India, with its local partner RCDC, is helping over 1600 women and their families from 55 marginalised fishing villages in Odisha lead their communities out of poverty. The project supports women to form and strengthen Self-Help Groups (SHGs), gain access to fair credit, start small businesses, and receive training in skills like goat rearing and fish vending. Women also learn financial literacy, gain market access, and connect to government schemes—building lasting resilience.
