The growing need for high-quality palliative care means that more people are facing life limiting illnesses without the specialist support they deserve. At Katharine House we are committed to meeting this challenge by providing a range of free and personalised services for those who need us. Last December alone 19 people were admitted to our inpatient unit and 50 were referred to our community team. As demand for our care continues to rise, these numbers are expected to increase year on year.
Sadly, we cannot fix a diagnosis, but we will provide expert and compassionate care for those with life-limiting illnesses, both at our hospice and in the comfort of their own homes, over the Christmas period and all year round. We will support patients and their loved ones in a way consistent with their lifestyle and their physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs. Being able to provide our services free of charge means that they are accessible to all who need them when they need them.
