When spinal cord injury strikes, life changes instantly. Individuals and whole families experience devastating physical and emotional impact. Yet 4 out of 5 people aren’t receiving specialist rehabilitation. Families are left terrified for the future. With no support, people do not have the skills, knowledge and opportunities they need. New data has found 4,700 spinal cord injuries are now diagnosed each year and over 105,000 people live with an injury- too many people are facing injury alone.

Back Up must be here for everyone affected by spinal cord injury. From the darkest days of a new injury to life in education, the world of work, and growing older, we are expanding services to ensure no one is alone. This year, we want to support over 3,200 people. But we need your help. Through vital hospital outreach, skills for independence, mentoring, vocation service, volunteering, information, digital support and a community- we’ll empower people of all ages to live life to the full.
