FIGS is raising funds to sustain and grow Ibba Girls’ Boarding School in South Sudan—providing girls’ education, gender equality, safe boarding, meals, and fair pay for staff. Help more girls in Africa learn, lead, and build a better, more equal future for themselves and their communities.

In South Sudan, girls face huge barriers to education. Poverty, conflict, child marriage, and domestic labour keep many girls at home. Over 70% of school-age children are out of school, and fewer than 10% of girls complete secondary education. Early pregnancy and marriage limit girls’ futures and perpetuate cycles of poverty. Without safe, supportive spaces to learn, girls miss out on education, their rights, health, and the chance to have a voice in their communities.
Friends of Ibba Girls’ School supports free, high-quality primary and secondary education for over 300 marginalised girls in South Sudan, following the national curriculum. All students board on campus in a safe, supportive environment, protected from early marriage and domestic pressures. IGBS provides a vital bridge from primary to secondary, giving girls the best chance to complete their education and become future leaders for peace and progress.
