Parish Nursing Ministries UK (PNMUK) exists to support churches and Christian organisations to set-up and run a Parish Nursing service for their local community. With over 70 Parish Nursing Services operating across the UK, along with another 10 being set-up, PNMUK is vital in its support to each.

Throughout the UK, ill-health and loneliness is widespread, and the NHS is under significant pressure to respond. Across each Parish Nursing Service they respond to local health needs which include: - Elderly and isolated people - Mentally ill - Babies and toddlers (early years) - People with addictions - Farming community - Homeless and rough sleepers - Migrants, asylum seekers and refugees - Fishing industry community - Women in prostitution - Carers (all ages) - Disabled - People in debt

Parish Nurses are unique in that they can professionally get alongside vulnerable patients of all ages, their carers and loved ones and support them in a holistic way that understands both their health needs and their personal circumstances. We exist as a practical expression of the church’s involvement in the community. By having a long-term presence within local communities, churches are able to respond to health needs of those known to them, often signposting them to the relevant NHS care.
