Winter can be a tough time for young people. Shorter days, colder weather, and reduced sunlight can affect mood and energy levels, increasing feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression. School pressures, social isolation, and financial stress at home can add to this, making winter especially challenging for mental wellbeing. Many young people struggle in silence—this campaign aims to ensure young Islanders get the support they need when they need it.
By offering a safe space, providing trusted adults, and tailoring services like therapeutic support and group work, the Youth Trust offers early support that prevents crisis, builds resilience and creates connection for young people over the winter months. With over 40 years’ experience of supporting children and young people with their mental health and wellbeing, our Winter Wellbeing Project will provide support when and where young people need it most.
