We redirect good quality food surplus to low cost community groceries to ensure that people in food poverty have all of the nutrition they need. We also use some of it to run pay-as-you-can community cafes which tackle food poverty and loneliness. We have a monthly deficit of £8k.

Every week, over 2 metric tonnes of food goes to waste in our area, meanwhile people are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis leading to food poverty and some are isolated and unable to afford to go out to alleviate their isolation.
We collect food and non-food items from local food businesses (supermarkets, manufacturers, cafes etc), quality control it and then redistribute it to low cost community groceries and pay-as-you-can community cafes in the Harrogate District. We tackle food waste, loneliness and food pvoerty. We also offer addtional support e.g. budgeting, cookery, signposting, and a work club.
