With high deprivation across the region, rising costs and financial hardship lock children from low-income families out of music education and its lifelong benefits: wellbeing, confidence, attainment, creative expression, mental health. The cost-of-living crisis is forcing children to miss opportunities that empower and open doors. At Create Music, we know every child deserves the chance to enjoy the life-changing power of music.
Our bursary scheme supports children who face barriers to music-making. This year we will offer 1,000 bursaries to low-income families across Sussex to help cover costs of music education, ensembles, performance opportunities and instrumental loan. Our support ensures access to high-quality music education where most needed. Music is a vital part of each child’s life, nurturing lifelong social and emotional well-being. Bursaries unlock the joys and opportunities of music education for all.
