1 in 50 people live with bipolar and the condition also has a significant impact on family and friends. Symptoms can include high and low moods, suicidal thoughts, impulsive behaviour and psychosis. Christmas can trigger anxiety, depression, loneliness and money worries, compounded by impulsive spending. After diagnosis, 67% of our community didn’t get any advice about how to manage the condition. The risk of suicide is 20 times greater for someone with bipolar. Timely support can be lifesaving.

This Christmas we’re providing wrap-around support for people with bipolar, and their family and friends. Funds raised will support our 24/7 online Community that’s open 365 days a year, our 1-1 call and email service and our support groups. In December, we will host an extra webinar and online peer support group to help cope with seasonal challenges. Led by people with lived experience, our peer support services offer people in need the chance to connect with others who understand - a lifeline.
