Every day - in the classroom, in their peer relationships, and online - girls and young women are experiencing misogyny and violence. Help us to equip young people in Wales, and the adults around them, to recognise the problem, change the narrative, and prevent violence before it starts.

Most of us think of misogyny and violence against women as harmful, adult issues yet… these problems are seeping into young people’s lives at alarming rates. Young people tell us that sexism, toxic masculinity, incel culture, porn, harassment and abuse are rife in their worlds. Online, these issues are increasingly normalised and follow young people wherever they go. Challenging misogyny is our collective responsibility - and you can be part of the solution.
It’s vital that young people have the skills to resist misogyny – online or otherwise. Welsh Women’s Aid plans to step up its work in support of young people. We’ll deliver group sessions that challenge harmful behaviours and get young people thinking about how they can protect themselves. We’ll co-produce an online safety toolkit to increase parents’ understanding of the risks and enable open and supportive conversations with their children. We’ll create a campaign to instigate change.
