Solidarity Sports supports children living with complex trauma. We work with Children’s Services to reach 256 children and their families each year. While most of our work takes place during the school holidays, we also offer year-round support including after-school clubs and one-to-one mentoring.

For families living in poverty and crippling debt, winter is the most challenging time of year. Our families face a range of complex issues, including abuse, mental health difficulties, isolation, malnutrition, PTSD, and overcrowded housing. Alongside these challenges, many families are struggling to afford necessities and pay household bills. This pressure intensifies in winter, with rising energy costs, increased food expenses during school holidays, and the added strain of the festive season.

This will be our largest campaign to date. We are aiming to raise £100,000 for 200 of our most vulnerable households. Funds will be allocated to those most in need and will go towards; supermarket vouchers, electricity top-ups, school uniforms, white goods, energy-efficient household items, and warm winter jackets and shoes. Our main aim is to ease the financial burden placed on families during this time of year and to ignite hope, and optimism during the festive season.
