Enhancing the Chrysalis Theatre; home to accessible drama, music, events and celebrations. The theatre welcomes hundreds of people with learning disabilities each year. This campaign will enable the reconfiguration of the foyer and enhance its accessibility.

The theatre is at risk of excluding the very people it was designed to serve. As Camphill MK has moved to support individuals with both a learning and physical disability, the space needs to adapt. Wheelchair users cannot move freely, hampering their independence. As our residents age, often physical disabilities develop alongside their learning disabilities which means spaces need to work differently to enable them to still have a key role within society and our community.
To reconfigure the foyer area, specifically the bar/servery, to include more free-space and to offer a lowered counter to offer accessibility to customers. The theatre will be upgraded to have intelligent video conferencing, so shows and celebrations can be shared both in-person and online, to offer more inclusion.
