Help us to provide bursaries for young musical children so that they can become choristers in Salisbury Cathedral's much loved choir. The beautiful choral music at Salisbury is one of our country's cultural treasures but it is a fragile and increasingly costly tradition to maintain.

Beneficiaries
It is a huge cost every year to provide the music at Salisbury Cathedral. We need to raise £188,000 this year for chorister bursaries to offer a life-changing opportunity to talented musical children from all backgrounds, regardless of their financial circumstances. Nearly half of our young choristers are in receipt of a bursary which enables them to receive their musical training to be part of the choir. Bursaries range from a small amount to nearly 100% of the fees depending on circumstances.
Salisbury Cathedral Choral Foundation was established in 1996 to receive donations that provide means-tested bursaries to children from families who would otherwise struggle to afford the fees for their musical education. We want to ensure that all musical children can benefit from the wonderful opportunities being a chorister brings. Our young singers develop critical life skills such as confidence, professionalism and team-working and many go on to have musical careers.
