The Girls’ Network works to ensure unlimited futures for all girls regardless of parental income, gender or background. We support girls aged 14-19 from the least advantaged communities by connecting them to a personal mentor and a network of female role models who they work closely with for 1 year

Girls tell us that they don’t believe they can achieve their ambitions. It’s no wonder they believe this when you see the research - Poverty is proven to affect the ability to concentrate in school and to feel hopeful about future opportunities. Those from lower-income families are 40% less likely to go to university than their wealthier peers and only 21% of young people from the poorest families achieve five good GCSEs, (Child Poverty Action Group, 2023) We hope to address this inequality.

Through our 1:1 year-long mentoring programme and selection of workshops, we see girls become more confident, knowledgeable, and learn how to conduct themselves in professional environments. They become more resilient and ambitious about their futures. e.g. applying to competitive universities, exploring new careers, taking up opportunities, such as work experience and leadership development. After the programme ends we offer each mentee life-long access to our network and Ambassador Community.
