Thousands of prosthetic legs are thrown away in the UK yet millions of amputees in sub-Saharan Africa go without. Help STAND refurbish and send 1,000 legs to Ghana and Tanzania. Just £100 can give an amputee the chance to walk again and reclaim their dignity, freedom, and future.

Millions of people in Africa live with limb loss yet most have no access to prosthetic limbs. In Ghana and Tanzania, amputees are shut out of school, work, and daily life, losing their independence and dignity. Meanwhile, thousands of reusable prosthetic legs are discarded each year in the UK, EU, US, and Canada. In 2026, we must rescue, refurbish, and deliver 1,000 of these limbs to trusted partners in Ghana and Tanzania to meet this urgent need.

We help people walk again restoring dignity, independence, and hope. STAND rescues discarded prosthetic legs and refurbishes them with the help of our trained specialists. We then deliver them to trusted clinics across sub-Saharan Africa. This appeal will partly fund the delivery of 1,000 prosthetic legs to trusted partners in Ghana and Tanzania. Each recipient then receives fittings, physiotherapy, and emotional support ensuring long-term mobility, inclusion, and life-changing impact.
