Over 6000 women go to prison annually, 31% have spent time in care, 53% suffered emotional, physical, or sexual abuse during childhood, 46% suffered domestic violence. Meaning they are not only disadvantaged by their current circumstances of being in prison but by historic ones. Low self-worth means women can be manipulated into criminal activity and stops them believing that they can be any better than they feel right now. Women’s reoffending rates are high - around 58% in year 1 post release

To provide women in prison with the tools and skills to make different life decisions and to move away from offending behaviour. We do this by delivering our 'Free to Be' courses, Understanding Loss, Understanding Forgiveness, Managing my Money, Parenting and FLOURISH. These courses explore some of the underlying reasons that have led to offending behavior, and explore some key topics around self-esteem, self-worth and individual value.
