Brain tumours remain the biggest cancer killer of children and under 40s, reducing life expectancy by 27 years on average. Progress is being made. New treatments are being developed. But with over 130 different types of brain tumour affecting both children and adults, it’s simply not enough. The path from promising lab science to real treatments is painfully slow, and those diagnosed with a brain tumour can’t wait for the life-changing treatments that they need today.
As the largest funder of research into brain tumours globally, our goal is for everyone diagnosed with a brain tumour to live longer, better and happier lives. For the 34 people diagnosed with a brain tumour in the UK every day, we want to make sure that treatments are available, support is accessible, and nobody is having to wait for the help they need. We can only achieve this through funding more groundbreaking research both in the UK and globally.
