At least 404,000 people have an ME/CFS diagnosis in the UK (based on recent ME Research UK-funded study extrapolated from UK Biobank data). Yet, despite this, the research spend per person between 2006 & 2015 was just £40 compared with £320 for those with Rheumatoid Arthritis & £800 for those with MS. The level of central funding for ME/CFS research neither reflects the economic burden of the disease nor its symptom burden or effect on the lives of those those living with it.

By investing in the highest quality biomedical research we can. Step-by-step we will invest in PhD-level research and Fellowships to attract, retain, and encourage new researchers to dedicate themselves to ME/CFS and through investment in project grants we will deepen scientific and medical understanding of the disease and help find answers which will aid those affected. First, last, and foremost we are decicated to research.
