Young women are consistently worse off financially than young men. Our research shows that they’re more likely to be in low-paid, part-time work, have unpaid caring roles, and face discrimination. On average, they earn £4,000 less each year than young men — and this gap is even wider for disabled and racially minoritised young women. These inequalities compound over time, so early action is vital.

We support young women directly through coaching, job application advice, webinars, workshops and a supportive community. We gather robust data on young women’s experiences of the world of work, and use this to influence employers, policymakers and the media. Together with young women, we will campaign for change to close the income gap, create a more equal world of work and raise young women’s incomes.
